DE or TT

Detailed info below

PCA-SDR offers two types of racetrack events, Driver’s Education (DE) and Time Trial (TT.) Driver’s Education includes some classroom components and on-track exercises and is the starting place for most participants. Typically, after completing two full DE weekends with PCA-SDR a participant will be promoted to TT student status.

Time Trial students will be assigned an instructor until their instructor and a Chief Driving Instructor (CDI) approve them to drive solo with PCA-SDR. After this point, as long as they drive with PCA-SDR regularly, they can register as a driver.

If you have significant racetrack driving experience, equal to or greater than eight days of racetrack driving (four weekends) in the last 24 months you may be eligible to participate in our Time Trial groups. In that case depending on our Chief Driving Instructor’s determination you may be registered as a TT student or as needing a check-ride before solo driving. To determine your eligibility message preregtt-de@pcasdr.org and give us information about your driving experience in the past 24 months:

For each event list:

Our CDIs will attempt to place you in the appropriate group and assign a check-ride or instructor as they deem necessary. Our organization is very safety conscious, so we ask for your understanding with group placement and solo status.

E-mail the Pre-Reg Team if you have any questions.
